Nature Box: Staged Snapshots from around the "Bastau Meadows" in Minden, Germany. - After 26 years abroad, working as a designer in metropolises such as New York and Honolulu, I now live in East Westphalia again, in the region where I grew up, but I see it with completely different eyes. My travels through Southeast Asia, where I often sought adventure off the beaten track, have taught me to pay attention to details. Often the beauty of a place was not in the definition of the travel guide, but in the detail of the unexpected scenarios that revealed themselves to me,
It was often the emotional experience of the surroundings, sometimes just the aesthetics of the moment. I learnt to look more and more closely, searching for poetic components - just as I can often see images within images in my artistic work; passages that inspire me again and again. This is how I learnt to let myself be guided (and inspired) by the poetry of my surroundings on my hiking trails. After some hiking tours in the local region, such as in the *Bastauwiesen, I could hardly wait to see what details I had been able to capture. Gradually, more of these staged snapshots were added to my collection.
